Assuming I'm right with which gig you've got(famous canadians?), I'm totally jealous, it's been a dream of mine since childhood to work for those people. Have fun :)

Yeah Tom, that other crew has had a reputation for years. Oh well... No AES this year unfortunately, didn't want to take the time off being the new guy. I am doing ETS, it's on the way to work. As for the social life thing, it helps being in the same city consitently and being able to speak the language, more or less. I don't know that I would want to blog about the Vegas dating scene, think Carrie Bradshaw except no Manolos and a husky, long haired middle aged production show roadie. It's actually more like Samantha. Everyone tells me that it's hard to meet Ms Right in Sin City although meeting Ms. Rightnow isn't too difficult here.

I'm not going to stop blogging, just change a few things. For example, Moblogs of the gig and the the play by play of gigs/tours posts. The aquatics stuff is pretty cool, it's the largest most complex com system I've ever worked on and we support the video/cctv monitoring system of the show inclucing a team of divers with cams and com in the water for the show. Our dept is pretty versatile and has a good amount of experience with each person having a specialty or two. I stand to learn a lot.

A couple of the things I look foward to learning are LCS/VRAS in depth and Pro Tools. I want to be an LCS Jedi and building a small PT LE rig at home.

Whew. I was getting worried. Between the out-of-focus pics and your gift for prose.... I was getting very frustrated here at barkin' dog.

Although it obviously was a completely different crew, when I was on tour in '89 with Najee we did a few dates where we opened for guitarist who sits (now stands) and were treated like dog shit by his crew. Didn't happen terribly often, so you (I) tend not to forget.

Anyways, very glad you seem to be taking to the new gig. Maybe if you have found a door into a "social life" after so many years there might be hope for me.

See you at AES ?

Dave, it's a shame we apparently aren't going to learn anything about commando wet work in your secret agent world. Now that every phone has a camera in it how do you keep cameras out of any building? Have fun anyway.
