How’d you like that EQ Station, Dave? I played with one a little bit when it was introduced at AES, but haven’t ever heard one do anything live and haven’t played with the flying fader remote. I’d LOVE to see something like that in a monitor rig.

That’s the pic from the McCauley demo, though they were using a Lake Contour for the Monarcs. I used an 8 mix EQ Station at a couple of gigs the week before and liked it. I’ve been meaning to post a review, but I’ve started gigging again and may not get to it. As a fan and longtime user of the original tc6032/1128 this is right up there with any device of its kind. There were a few quirks, like not being able to store presets from the remote. The remote requiring a power cable in addition to the control cable was a bit of a hassle, though not a show stopper by any means.
When I spec wedge based mon systems for touring gigs I include a recallable eq system and recently it’s been either the older tc or DN3600s though I’ve used the Varicurve and Protea rigs as well. The EQ Station is at the top of the list right now. My pal Dansound just picked one up and my pals next to the BBQ joint are considering it as an upgrade to the DN360s they have now.
As an aside, for as expensive as the Moto RAZR is, the camera on the phone sure is shitty.

It looked like an excellent product when I saw it, too… Hopefully I’ll get to log some time on one, although since I’m a FOH guy I don’t need 8 channels of EQ all that often. They’ve certainly got the salient points down… Lots of EQ that you can use at the same time, nice color screen, TCP/IP connectivity, software available for more than one platform…
