Just heading back to Seattle at the moment. I’ve got some notes with my highlights from the show that will be up sometime before Monday evening or so. I decided to delay my trip for a day and stop at the flagship Apple Store in San Francisco for the launch of the Apple mini (that’s right kids, small “m”). I decided rather than to try and get a room in SF in the early hours of the morning (wouldn’t have made it until 3 or 4 am) I’d stop at the TA in Santa Nella, CA, get some of the cheap WiFi they sell the truckers and grab a bit of shut eye before heading to the city for breakfast at the Pinecrest Diner, catch a glimse of the mini and perhaps kick the tires, attend the Garageband workshop then dinner at Brandy Ho’s, a visit to City Lights books then head back home.
I got the Powerbook, WiFi, Sirius is finally working (and I found out what happened to Dusty Street and Freddy Snakeskin), I’m all set for a swinging night at the TA. Now if I could just find my No Lot Lizards sticker I’d be set.

you are treading some of my most familiar turf there
Santa Nella, The Pinecrest, Brandy Ho’s are all staple on Gramps itineraries over the years
And it’s no surprise that Dusty Street has landed on Sirius.
A continuing jolt to my brain is hearing Dave McQueen, former KSAN FM afternoon guy when they were THE big dog in Bay Area radio, working the late night weekend shifts on the local all news AM station - my constant after gig companion in the car.

As I was heading down O’Farrell toward the garage across from the Hilton as I passed the club I thought “shit, I should have called Gramps or Bink for some lunch”. I did a real hit and run. I love the city and once there, I did see about staying but I was tired from driving most of the night and being SF, if you don’t research a good deal ahead of time it’s an arm and a fin for a good room on the weekend at the last minute. BTW, free WiFi at the coffee stand outside Union Square Macys kitty corner from the Apple store.
Dave McQueen on AM news? WOW…
